Vote YES on Oregon Measures 66 and 67 on January 26, 2010!
Measures 66 and 67 will raise $733 million in revenue, and protect up to $250 million in federal matching funds, for education and health care in Oregon over the 2009 - 11 biennium.
The measures will protect funding for critical health care services for community health center patients:
- Health insurance coverage under the Oregon Health Plan (OHP) for about 20,000 children and 20,000 adults, including seniors and people with disabilities.
- OHP coverage for adult dental services, certain prescription drugs, alcohol and drug treatment, and some community mental health services.
Read our Talking Points for more on Measures 66 and 67 and don't forget to register to vote by January 5, and vote YES on January 26!

The Time for Health Care Reform is Now.
With over 600,000 uninsured Oregonians and an aging population,
health care should be:
•
Affordable – health insurance premiums costs over $11,000 a year
for the average family.
•
Patient centered, focused on primary & preventive care – ER
visits have increased by over 40% the past 5 years.
•
High-quality and efficient – Only 55% of patients in a random
sample of adults received recommended care, with little difference
found between care recommended for prevention, acute episodes or chronic
conditions (McGlynn et al., 2003).
CHAO is building a grassroots network across Oregon. We are holding
legislators and policymakers accountable for finding solutions to ensure
all Oregonians have access to a high-quality system of health care.
By joining our network, we will periodically send you email updates
and ask that you lend your name in support of reform. Join our grassroots network, your voice can make a difference!
